Paul Huls

Paul Huls was born in a family where all participated in the pigeon sport. When he moved to his grandmothers farm in 1981 he also moved next door to his father in-law, Alfons Bos. Up to 1987, Paul was the helper of his father in-law and here he learned to sharpen his skills in the game. In 1988, he started on his own. In 1991, a brand new villa was built with new coops to match.

Being an avid reader of all pigeon related material, Paul became a believer in the eye sign theory. He travelled extensively and began to build his family of birds from the top flyer's and breeders in Belgium. From the likes of Hippoliet Alen, Jozef Gressens, Jef Vansweefelt, William Luyten, Remi De Mey, Gaby Vandeabeele, Norbert and Filip Norman, Karl Schellens, Flor Vervoort, Jules Verbeeck, Gommaire Verbruggen, Theo Yskout, Broeckx-Van Hees, Gebr. Herbots, Herman Van Gestel, Albert Evraets, Maurits Voets, Frans Aerts, Dirk Van Dijck, Aantoon en Hilde Reynaert and Kees Bosau, Paul built his family.

Over the years, success came for Paul and his friends. With his dream breeding colony , he produced winners such as Aline, 1st nat. Argenton, 20499 birds, Black Jack, 1st Olympiad Bird All Round in 2007, Den Engel, 1st Provincial Ace Bird KBDB 2004. In 2004 he bred 21 1st prize and 2 times 1st provincial positions. In 2005, 22 1st and 23 2nd positions and 4 times 1st provincial. In 2006 22 1st, 2 times 1st provincial and the All around 1st Olympiad for 2007. In 2007, 17 times 1st. Paul was quick to help others and the list of successes with friends is formidable: Albert Derwa, National Champion Yearlings KBDB in 1999 and 2001, Andreas Drapa, National Ace birds and Olympic birds with Paul's birds, Aantoon and Hilda Reynaert when they borrowed some breeders, had instant success, Theo Yskout got his super breeding hen Sylvia from Paul, Roland Fitzner set Germany a fire with the Hul's lines, Dirk Van Dijck used the Huls birds with his family and had greater success,

In 2008, Paul's loft man, Cyriel[76] decided to retire. Paul's video stores take him across Belgium, so little of his time is left to do the pigeons any justice. After a lot of soul searching, he decided that it would be better to quite at the top of the game, rather than let it slide. His auctions were attended by all the great flyer's and the birds were sold for a fantastic amount of gold. We were lucky to get these seven cocks and will be using these with the very best hens we have.
