Everyone needs them. You maybe the best breeder in the world, you need them. You may just be starting up the ladder of success, you need one. These are the birds that, when brought into your colony, give instant gratification. There is nothing like adding a superstar to your best hens or an outstanding hen for your best stud. Next season's young birds will shine and lift your hopes higher.

The Dutch line breed and inbreed and add their VIP a little at a time. In Belgium, they are much quicker to add new blood. In Belgium, it seems, patience is not a virtue. They want to win now, not next week.

Which ever method you use, your VIP plays an important role. You are mistaken if you think any top bird will enhance your family. Opposites may attract, but they don't help racing birds fly faster or home better. Blending a super bird with your own takes research, patience and luck. Buying from a fancier who's methods are the same or close to yours, who flies a system that is close to yours and who flies a concourse with the same direction as your own all play a factor in your success.

Breeding winners for myself and others is our goal. Bill and I have inbred families that we will keep going but we will also be crossing to try and find that next instant super champion.
